About

Hanneke ter Horst

Hanneke’s work origins in free movement, ideas and forms emerge organically, she is guided by the energy of the moment.
Natural colour plays a crucial role in her work. The plant colours she uses develop in a way that she compares to music, where the fading of colour resonates like melodies. For Hanneke, colour is not just a visual element, but a connecting force that creates overlaps and gives a rhythmic quality to her work.
She investigates the dynamics between thoughts and boundaries of the physical reality, and time and again she returns to the convergences and intersections of these elements. This process offers her the space to explore new ways of shaping, where the constant movement of colour and idea is central.
